About Us

Montgomery California is a long distance collaboration/virtual band comprised of two members who have never met!

Allen Dean who lives in Sacramento, CA.

And Jason Whitman who lives in Montgomery, AL.

Both artists play guitar, bass and limited keys.

Allen provides the high octane power vocals and killer lead

guitar parts.

Both Allen and Jason employ Drums on Demand to achieve the most realistic drum sounds possible. In fact, more time is spent on drums per track than any other instrument! Both artists are committed to producing a “real” band feel. As such, drum loops are sliced, diced and painstakingly re-arranged to provide the thundering rhythm section that heavy music demands!

Both members contribute to writing the songs, arranging them and penning the lyrics.

There is no “me” or “I” in MC! Only a collective team!

Allen and Jason met on macjams.com (a site dedicated to musicians who use the Mac to record/produce music) in early 2007. As such, both Allen and Jason currently use Apple’s lightweight (compared to other high-end music apps) GarageBand application for all of their mixing and recording.

Allen and Jason found each other’s music to be mutually appealing and decided to collaborate on a song Jason had posted called “Waste of Me”. This turned out to be the wonderful beginning of their collective musical journey. Soon after they decided to again tackle another of Jason’s songs simply called “Growl” (later to become “Fault Lines”).

At this point, both found that they enjoyed collaborating and decided to come up with a moniker for their newfound musical endeavor. Allen suggested “Montgomery California”... a suitable name reflecting the several thousand miles that actually separate them.
